Exchange 2007: Outlook Auto-Forwarding rules to remote domains do not work

Has a customer configured an auto-forward rule in Outlook to forward mail to an outside account, but it never gets there either? By default, the Hub Transport servers in Exchange 2007 do not allow for auto-forwarding to remote domains to be configured via Outlook clients. You have to manually tell the Hub Transport server to allow this traffic. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Open Exchange Management Console 2. Navigate to Organization Configuration\Hub Transport folder. 3. Click on the "Remote Domains" tab 4. Right click on the "Default *" entry, and select "Properties" 5. Select the "Format of original message sent as attachment to journal report" tab. 6. Check the "Allow automatic forward" option. 7. Hit "Apply" and then "Ok" Give the setting a few minutes to take effect and test again. You should be able to auto-forward emails outside of your exchange or
